Brian has worked in the financial services industry since 1989 and started building the wealth management team, now known as Steele Wealth Management, in 1998. He is a Senior Vice President of Raymond James Ltd., and branch manager of the Waterloo office.
As lead Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager for Steele Wealth Management, Brian believes in cultivating client relationships that last a lifetime. He uses his extensive experience to provide unequaled investment management and comprehensive financial planning to a select group of individuals and their families. He provides exceptional discretionary investment management with comprehensive integrated wealth management solutions including extensive tax planning.
He began in corporate and personal income tax planning for a national accounting firm. Recognizing that business owners and executives needed a broader application of expert tax knowledge, he decided to move to the investment industry in 1993. Providing wealth management services to individuals, corporations, trusts and foundations, he recognized that understanding the taxation of different investment returns and minimizing portfolio taxation is integral to achieving maximum risk-adjusted returns.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, is a Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Brian is licensed in the United States with FINRA to advise clients on cross-border issues.
Brian is an enthusiastic member of the Westmount Golf and Country Club. He is the Chair of The Westmount Oktoberfest Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament which has raised over $1.4 million to support local charities. He also works with the Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council on fundraising initiatives. He is an active parent of two children and enjoys spending time with his family at the cottage.
